BitsOfData was selected to present our solution to the challenge "Object assignment in 3D point clouds"

The challenge demands setting up an automated assignment of plant components from 3D point clouds for existing objects (BIM-as-Built).

3D models are usually produced by laser scanning, total stations and UAVs, and serve as models for architectural and civil engineering planning. These are then sent into "BIM-as-Built" models. Depending on the task, the models are made available with georeferencing. All plant objects should be automatically recognised with the 3D information from the laser scans and combined with the corresponding object information.
